Foundations of Technical Communication: Theory Paper

Assignment: Write a 2500-3000 word paper which should attempt to extend the discussion of a specific topic or theory beyond the scope of class discussions and readings. You may use the same topic researched in your literature review assignment, or select a new topic (with my approval). In addition to including sources from class readings, this paper should incorporate additional research (at least 5-7 sources) to develop its thesis. As a final component of this assignment, you prepare an abstract of the paper (approximately 250 words) as a handout and give a 10-minute presentation of your project on the final day of class. This assignment will take the place of a written final exam. A functional link to this assignment must be posted on the online portfolio by the due date.
